BITS AND BLOGS: SUNDAY GIRL EDITION

So I found myself a new girl crush a couple of days ago after doing a phone interview with Jade Williams aka Sunday Girl. Knowing nothing about her, I did the obligatory Google and then spent an obscene amount of time on her blog. Oh my. I was girl crushin' so bad. Even more so after speaking to her. She's animal crazy, hearts the Mystery Jets and loves a thread or two. Girl after my own heart. I love her.

Here are my faves from her blog:

Her single 'Stop Hey' is out in Jan 2011 (2011 oh my, feels like only yesterday my brother almost got blinded by a party popper at a Millennium 'are we/aren't we all going to die' party). In the meantime, check out this Feist cover she did with Bright Light Bright Light. Girl can sing.

Love love love her.

GLITTER AND TRAUMA

Oh my. The hunt for the gold sequin dress is over. It's over man, it's over! On the way to my Bikram yoga class yesterday (which involved me getting hideously lost - I need a smartphone), I passed an All Saints and spotted this sparkly number glinting at me from the warmth of the shop. So I trotted in and oh sigh, oh sigh, it was love at first sight.

Now, I've not tried it on, but the loose shape and tie at the back tell me it's a winner. And these pictures certainly don't do it justice. Swoon.

All Saints, £295.

Need someone who can get me a hefty discount at All Saints please...

BACK IN BLACK - SHAKUHACHI STYLE

First I fell hard and fast for Aussie label One Teaspoon. Then I stumbled across another Aussie label Shakuhachi and fell in lust with the majority of the online store. I'm obviously in a very sombre mood as all the pieces I made a beeline for were either black or black floral. S.A.D is taking hold, I'm sure of it. Either way, I'd be happy to dress in funeral garb if it meant wrapping myself in the beauties below.

Behold.

Daytripper crop bustier - 120 AUD

Stripe tube skirt - 140 AUD

Lace and mesh tee dress - 240 AUD

Embellished kerrawang cami - 200 AUD

Day tripper pocket tank - 180 AUD

Day tripper lace shoulder dress - 240 AUD

To top it all off, the brand was started after founder Jessie White was inspired by her time travelling the world. Girl after my own heart. Oh, and in case you're wondering, a shakuhachi is a Japanese flute...learn something new everyday, right?

ALL THAT GLITTERS

So I've been a bit (read: extremely) blog-lazy of late...last time I posted it was Summer; now we're very much into the coldest season of them all. My recently purchased faux fur coat is keeping me snug on those early morning bus rides and my daily tea quota has increased dramatically. (Very milky with half a sugar please. In a 'would you like some tea with that milk?' sort of way.)

Anyway, I digress, I digress. It's now party season (So all the glossies tell me) which means every girl needs a sparkly new party dress that's only suitable to wear around Christmas. My dress of choice also happens to be Natalia Vodianova's dress of choice - this gold and utterly amazing Balmain number. I've decided I need it. I obvs won't ever touch it, least of all own it so I guess I'd better aim a bit lower.
