ICONA POP - GIRLFRIEND

My first instinct was to raise my eyebrows and wrinkle my nose in distaste, but then the harmonies kicked in (I'm such a sucker for a harmony) and my heart started dancing. I gave it a few listens. And gave in. I love it. However much my brain didn't want to. (2Pac luvvaz gna h8 out of respek. 2Pac hologram luvvaz gna luv. Beyonce/Jay Z luvvaz gna be undecided.)

My crystal ball has just vomited up a hazy, slightly sweaty vision of absolute euphoria in festival dance tents the world over. AND I'M IN IT.

No release date yet so keep a beady on their Twitter. (America probably needs time to get over how much they love I Love It.)

ICONA POP - I LOVE IT

This isn't just noise. This is 'ho shit let's go crazy it's Friday night and I have so much pasta in me but I'm still gonna dance and spill my rum and cherry coke everywhere' noise. Happy Friday. May your dancing round your bedroom be as sweaty as mine.

Why is this not available in the UK? Contacting their PR on Monday to beg for it.

ICONA POP

One of the joys of my job is putting together the release schedule (I lie, it's tedious, very, very tedious) but being the good girl that I am, I always Google any artist whose name I don't recognise. Just in case they're the new teen pop sensation. More often than not, they're not, but I have uncovered some absolute gems for my own personal listening. Most recent of these discoveries was Icona Pop, a Swedish popstrel whose debut Manners should be played to all teens before they embark on any kind of romantic relationship.
