PAWWS - TIME TO SAY GOODBYE

Pawws aka Lucy Taylor aka ASL Records' latest signing aka beauts girl with a beauts voice is releasing double A side Time To Say Goodbye/Slow Love. Her brand of 80s-esque pop perfects the whole happy/sad thing which I am ALLLLLLLLL over. It's always nice to have a high in the low, huh?

In this age of flash in the pan reality music show stars, it's nice to see people emerge who've done it the hard way. And who have actual real-life talent. Ya na?

Time To Say Goodbye/Slow Love is released 15th July.

ICONA POP - GIRLFRIEND

My first instinct was to raise my eyebrows and wrinkle my nose in distaste, but then the harmonies kicked in (I'm such a sucker for a harmony) and my heart started dancing. I gave it a few listens. And gave in. I love it. However much my brain didn't want to. (2Pac luvvaz gna h8 out of respek. 2Pac hologram luvvaz gna luv. Beyonce/Jay Z luvvaz gna be undecided.)

My crystal ball has just vomited up a hazy, slightly sweaty vision of absolute euphoria in festival dance tents the world over. AND I'M IN IT.

No release date yet so keep a beady on their Twitter. (America probably needs time to get over how much they love I Love It.)

BIPOLAR SUNSHINE - RIVERS (VIDEO)

"Been low but I've been higher."

Bipolar Sunshine aka Manchester's Adio Marchant (former member of Kid British) has just released the video for Rivers, the lead track off his EP Aesthetics. Ever since ASOS tweeted the link to the song I've been listening to it on repeat. It's my favourite sort of sad/happiness with a chorus that instantly transports your mind to a lush patch of grass in the sunshine.

EP Aesthetics is out 17th June.
He's playing an EP release show at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen on 20th June.

LAZY OAF X NASTY GAL: VIDEO

When my friend introduced Nasty Gal to me, I was immersed in a world of joy and we did a joint order immediately. Granted, by the time the box of treats arrived I'd forgotten what was in it, but that's what you get for choosing the cheapest transatlantic shipping option. So when I heard that Brit brand Lazy Oaf were doing a collab I did a little dance of joy.

Video lookbooks rule my world (so long as they're not cheesier than a cheese flight) especially when they're shot in ye olde bowling allies like Rowans in Finsbury Park. Forget all the super kewl ironic bowling you can get up to around these ends (for a fistful of dollars), Rowans is like being transported back to your bowling birthday of 1996. We shot there once and the staff just looked on bemused the entire time, probably silently willing us to leave.

The collection launches on Tues 28th May riiiiiight here
I basically need all the watermelon stuff. Stat.

SAY LOU LOU - JULIAN (VIDEO)

Miranda and Elektra Kilbey aka the twins that make up Say Lou Lou (the band formerly known as Saint Lou Lou) were raised between Sydney and Stockholm which might explain why they're so fucking cool. Although the Guardian described them as sounding like 'a depressed tATu'. Which, let's be honest, is still effing cool.

Pic stolen from Interview

They recently released the video for Julian, their follow up to Maybe You. More upbeat, less dark but with the same emotional appeal of their previous offering. It's an absolute beaut of a track.

Julian is out now on iTunes.

WONDERLAND TV: LAURA HADDOCK

I THINK I'M IN LOVE WITH LAURA HADDOCK. Was first mesmerised by her when she was the regulation hottie in The Inbetweeners Movie and the flame just reignited when I stumbled across this, Thanks Wonderland.

SIR SLY - FOUND YOU OUT

Got taken to see Wardell at the Queen of Hoxton last Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised to discover via my pre-gig research (i.e. stage times so I know how long I have to eat my dinner) that they were supporting Sir Sly. Have loved these guys since I first heard Ghost earlier this year, so was pretty excited to see them live. On a Tuesday, the most rubbish day of the week.

After one ludicrously overpriced bottle of Becks, one lap of the Queen of Hoxton's roof garden and one sa-weeeeeeeeet Wardell set, the Cali-forn-i-a boys came on and proved they're even better live than via my laptop speakers. They also confirmed that their name is pronounced 'Sir Sly' and not some douchey way of saying 'seriously'. Juuuuuuust checking.

Latest track Found You Out is much poppier than their previous releases, and it took me a few post-gig listens for it to grow on me, but grow it did. Having said that, it'll never replace Ghost in my heart. That tune is an absolute beaut and a half.

Can't wait for a full length album. Definitely recommend seeing these guys live when they're next in your ends.

CRYSTAL FIGHTERS - YOU & I (VIDEO)

Finally remembered who sung this song. Oh I love it, I love it. Tropical vibes, danciness and pure seratonin sunshine in a song.

The video's sad though. SADSIES. :(

You & I is out now.
Crystal Fighters' new album Cave Rave is out 27th May.
