TAKING LIBERTIES

With the sun poking through for longer and longer periods each week, thoughts are drifting to spending time lazing on London Fields with an iced chai, your besties and a borrowed dog. With a healthy dose of people watching/boy perving mixed in, obvs. Which requires sunglasses. And I think I just found the perfect pair.

Liberty have teamed up with RetroSuperFuture to create 3 Liberty print beauties, of which these are my faves.

I'm normally all about classically coloured sunnies (i.e. tortoiseshell/black) so these would also be a must-have:

GET A LIFE

I'm easily amused, therefore spend a lot of time on YouTube watching animal clips. If I'm ever not answering my phone, it's probably because I'm sat cross-legged on my bed, crying with laughter at some animal-based porn, sorry, video. Here are 3 of the best:

DOESN'T LIFE FEEL SO MUCH BETTER HAVING WATCHED THAT?!

JUST BLEACHY

Oh how I wish I had blonde hair so I could have these tips. I just don't think it would work quite so well on a brunette. Shame, shame, shame.

MAXIMUM POTENTIAL

These pics really make me want it to be Summer already so I can waft around in a coloured maxi with an iced coffee in hand, acting like I live in L.A.

In reality of course, I'll be stumbling around Newington Green, hungover, clutching a Cherry Coke and a bag of Kettle Chips, but hey.

DON'T LET THE WORLD BRING YOU DOWN

After watching Never Say Never tonight I cleansed my soul by listening to Incubus on the way home. And my, oh MY, I forgot how much I love this song. I wanted to wail along the whole way home (drunkenly engrossed, eyes squeezed shut, crouched on floor style.)

Oh, the days of Incubus. There weren't noooooooo Bieber then.

WATCH YOURSELF

Now I don't wear watches (which might explain why I'm always late) but if I did I'd wear this dear little thing.

Watch, £26, Urban Outfitters

Or I could just get it to lay on my bedside table? Yup. (Who am I kidding, I can barely afford to eat these days.) (Mum, if you're reading, I'm eating just fine.)

NAILING IT

I didn't really care or understand about the whole Li-Lo trial last year, but I did notice she had fabulous nails. Yeah, I just said 'fabulous', what of it?

I'm not angry enough for the 'Fuck U' but perhaps I'll appreciate that more when I'm being tried for DUI. The leopard print-ish swirl of bright colour behind is a dream for my eyes. Summer on a nail - when my hands are tanned and wrinkly, it'll look totes hot.

I also found this on WAH and fell in love. Not with the fruit so much, but the juicy stripes behind. Makes my mouth water just looking at them.

WAH also showcased these colourful claws - tie dye nails? Made. For. Me. Love a bit of bright tie-dye. Tanned skin and an over-sized tie-dye vest as a dress? Yes SIR.

I am so sick of being pale and waking up to grim skies. Winter is so last season. I'm ready for some sun.

I'D PAY TO SEE YOU FROWN

Only just realised Panic! At The Disco were back, minus two members and with the '!' they ditched for their second album. Yeah, they're not the most credible band blah blah blah but I can't get enough of their latest song. Not just because they sing my name. A lot. It's such a dance round your bedroom with a rum and coke number. Watch your lime slice doesn't go flying though.

BLOODY ELLE

I love ELLE. I would go as far to say it's my favourite magazine. It's the only one I buy religiously every month. I like Psychologies too, but that's more of a bonus read. And a light-hearted look into the human psyche. Anyway, I digress. One of the reasons I love ELLE so much is the covers. They're always so simple yet so beautiful. And I have every single issue I have ever bought stashed away under my bed. My favourite will always be Kate Hudson (April 2008) for its bright, summery vibes. This issue has the privilege of being displayed on my shelf instead of being stacked in a pile as it makes me so happy just glancing at it. You're immediately transported to your happiest sun-drenched memory. Bliss.

April 2008, UK ELLE

Coming in second is Britney (September 2003) for the gorgeous colour scheme and the hot hot hot Miss Spears. 'cos she was a Miss at the time. Not Mrs. Not Ms. Not hairless. Not fat. Just every boy's (and girl's) fantasy. Dreamy.

September 2003, UK ELLE

But ELLE's latest cover is definitely in the running for 3rd place. It's so classic and simple yet lovely, lovely, lovely. Their covers are never too busy and they use colour schemes like a dream. And I don't doubt that Keira's intricate bone structure has a lot to do with my love for it. Shot by Terry Tsiolis and in Tom Ford's new collection, she just looks babe-e-licious.

WOOL-IAM AND KATE

When a press release plopped into the office today for this bad boy, I nearly had a fit of joy.

However, what this image doesn't show (and what the image on my stupid phone which won't upload [fuck yooooooou T-Mobile] does show) is the whole extended family immortalised in wool - yes, it also includes patterns for the Queen, Phillip, Harry, Charles, Horseface and even the Corgis! Don't hyperventilate but there's also a customisable pattern so you can knit yourself into the ceremony! Oh. My.

Oh look, here comes the blushing bride and her 'so much potential but you had to be a Royal' husband!

I die. Pre-order yours now as it's not out until March. WHY, Ivy Press, whhhhhhhhhy?

Knit Your Own Royal Wedding, Fiona Goble, Ivy Press, RRP £9.99.
Released 25th March 2011.
