DOGS IN TOGS

Housemate just alerted me to these beauties by Winnie Au. So chic, so refined. (I'd totes wear that floral dress.) I LOVE AN ANIMAL IN CLOTHING.

LIKE CRAZY

Saw this film at a screening a few weeks ago and was so glad I went alone and that there were very few of us in there - I was a-weeping. Silently, mind, but weeping nonetheless. The trailer and synopsis don't do this film any justice at all - shot in just under a month on a Canon 7D and for only $250,000, this is budget film at its best. Being shot on a consumer camera with unscripted dialogue makes it seem like you are merely witnessing real events rather than sitting in a cinema watching a glossy 'we know how this will end' Hollywood blockbuster.

Starring Felicity Jones (she's come a long way since The Worst Witch) and Anton Yelchin as a head over heels in love couple who are torn apart by immigration laws, the film follows their ups and downs over a five year period, showing that yes, love is indeed a bit shit.(It also features Jennifer Lawrence whose career is about to blow up when The Hunger Games hits cinemas in March.)

Perfected by Dustin O'Halloran's haunting score, the film is at times funny, at times euphoric, and a lot of the time, incredibly, incredibly painful. Don't judge it on the trailer. (Or on the fact that Felicity Jones was in Chalet Girl which was shockingly shit.) Like Crazy is in cinemas tomorrow. Go see.

HIGHER LOVE

Stumbled across this beaut when Spotify forced me to listen to the 'Top tracks near you' playlist (the N16 posse sure love Rihanna) and this track was number three. Intrigued, I clicked and listened. And listened again. And listened again. And...you get the picture. In fact, I listened to it more than I listened to Marcus Collin's debut single which landed in my inbox today (embarrassingly I got locked out of the system 'cos I'd played it too much).

James Vincent McMorrow's beautifully haunting version of one of my favourite childhood feel good songs works a treat and has a touch of Bon Iver/Benjamin Frances Leftwich about it. Which can only be a good thing.

However, it sounds like the sort of song Fearne Cotton pisses her pants over so I wondered if that was the reason it was such a favourite of my neighbours. However, after some brief research, I discovered that it was used in a LoveFilm ad. But you knew that, didn't you? 'cos you own a telly box. (One day I'll have a TV in my life again. From that day, you'll find me on my sofa covered in cheese ball crumbs and Dorito dust, watching back to back episodes of Cheaters. Oh Heaven.)

IN GOOD COMPANY

As a magazine-o-saurus (i.e. magazine geek) I was pretty excited to finally get my hands on the much hyped and long awaited new look Company. It looks a lot 'cooler' now - more Nylon, less More! with subtle artistic changes like new quirky fonts and a less subtle change of more luxe, matte paper. I liketh. I liketh a lot.

Except for the small-ness. I'll always choose a regular sized version of a mag over the travel-sized one if I get a choice. Fashion shoots look better on larger pages, but granted, this will fit far more easily into my already bulging handbag...

p.s. loving cover girl Alexa's answer that 'The 149 bus in London' is the most fashionable place on Earth. Lollerz, eh?

WILDFOX, YOU MAKE MY HEART...ROX

Crikey o'reilly, get Summer on the phone, it's an emergency! It needs to get. Here. NOW. Wildfox's SS12 White Label is 'a reflection of the girl's childhood fantasies, a grown up fairy tale decked with pastels, sparkles, mini dresses and 80's nostalgia. My little pony, Care Bears and Rainbow Bright are brought to life in this collection with pastel hair, dreamy knits, creamy lace, fringe and dungarees.'

I like, I like a lot. I want to cycle around on my ridiculous bike (made for LA not N16)with tanned skin and pastel hair. And I want the horse cardigan. BRING ME THE HORSE CARDIGAN.

WARNING: SAD PUPPY

Just about to start getting ready to go out when I stumbled across this pic. Now all I can do is look in his sad eyes and weep the tears he can't. Let's all stay in and watch The Notebook. Pass the tissues.

FLORAL-LEIGH JEANS

Oh God, two Topshop posts in a row, kill me. But these deserve it. They caught my eye in the Tunbridge Wells Topshop and I knew I had to have them. They're the perfect transitional Spring piece i.e. a better choice than most of the neon stuff I've been buying of late as I can actually wear them now. They're the Super Soft Ankle Grazer Leigh jeans and they really are super soft (and super tight, which is ideal when the material's so thin).

Wearing them with my black Cheap Monday jumper and clompy boots as I'm off to Mudchute today to hang out with horses. Neigh.

(If you look closely in the background you can see my dead-as-a-dodo coriander plant. Me and living herbs don't have a very good relationship. That one's carcass has been festering on my floor for a good month or so due to the fact I can't bring myself to chuck out yet another failed attempt at herbery. [I'm aware that's not a word.])

BAGS OF STYLE

Just found my Summer bag, dinni? Might even be big enough to stuff in a towel and some sunscreen to use as a beach bag. Nice. (Just er, need the Spring to hurry up and get here. Patience is NOT a virtue.)

DEAD DOG

Can't say I'm a fan of David Shrigley's illustrations but his taxidermy got me.

David Shrigley: Brain Activity is at the Hayward Gallery from 1st Feb.
